Rustenburg Girls’ Junior School (RGJS) has been awarded the highest possible rating by the Schools Evaluation Authority (SEA), receiving an outstanding rating across all evaluated areas. This recognition highlights the school’s commitment to excellence in education and the strong culture it fosters.
The evaluation process involved in-depth classroom and playground observations, as well as discussions with key stakeholders, including the principal, School Management Team (SMT), subject leaders, staff, parents, and learners. Evaluators also engaged with the School Governing Body (SGB) and conducted a thorough review of student behavior, academic performance, and learning environments.
Principal Belinda Petersen expressed her gratitude, acknowledging the dedication and hard work of the RGJS staff. “Achieving a score of 4 (outstanding) in every category is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our teachers, management team, and school community. Your efforts do not go unnoticed.”
The SEA’s assessment included 30 lesson observations across various subjects in the Foundation, Intermediate, and Senior Phases, totaling approximately 15 hours of evaluation. The report reinforces RGJS’s holistic approach to education, made possible by the collaborative efforts of staff, parents, and school governance.
The annual SEA certification ceremony, held on November 23, 2024, recognized schools that achieved outstanding and good ratings. This achievement places RGJS among the top-performing schools, further solidifying its reputation for excellence in education and student development.
